Fifteen years ago, we didn’t know whether this project would even survive. All we knew was that we had to try. This journey was never the result of an individual effort, and it was never built in isolation. It was shaped by people who believed in the idea, who stayed when staying became difficult, who worked under pressure, made mistakes, learned, and kept moving forward. It was built on the trust of an audience that gave us its time, on partners and clients who believed in us year after year, and on the support of family and friends who stood by me personally through the hardest phases of this journey, when the burden was heavy and the cost was deeply personal. What was achieved over these fifteen years was never expected, not with the limited financial resources we had, not within the environment we were operating in, and not under the pressure that came with choosing independence and credibility over easier options, and then continuing to carry the consequences of that choice. Yet we kept moving forward, step by step, year after year, until Roya’s content crossed borders, platforms, and languages, reaching billions of views and proving that a Jordanian voice can reach the world without sacrificing its identity or values. Success was never the result of an easy path. It came despite repeated obstacles, despite pressure, and despite attempts to slow us down, marginalize us, or make us fail, whether politically, economically, or institutionally. What ultimately allowed us to continue was perseverance and the refusal to stop, especially at moments when stopping would have been the easier choice. Roya believed in young talent long before doing so became a common or safe option. It created real space for experimentation, learning, and growth, and built an institutional culture rooted in research, analysis, data, and listening, not in assumptions, ego, or the illusion of having all the answers. Over time, Roya became a launchpad for young talent, not only by building media platforms, but by contributing to the growth of individuals who started their journey here and went on to succeed, lead, and create across the region and beyond. Roya became progressive by intention, not by coincidence, through a continuous focus on innovation, experimentation, and the development of tools and methods. This approach helped shift expectations in the region and set new standards, positioning Roya as a recognized and influential leader at both the regional and international levels. Growth brought responsibility, and we chose to own it. Jordan has always been, and will remain, at the heart of our priorities, its people, its stability, and its future, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, and with the central role of the Hashemite family, which has consistently been a pillar of stability, moderation, and defense of the causes of the region. We will continue to work toward positive impact across social, political, economic, and human rights issues, not because it is easy, but because it is a responsibility we believe in. We will also remain firm in our support for Palestine, and we will continue, through responsible and principled media, to confront apartheid policies and the crimes committed Israel, while reminding the world of the historical role of the United Kingdom beginning with the Balfour Declaration, and the ongoing role of the United States in enabling injustice. We do this from a belief that silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality, but complicity, and that was never our choice, and never will be. In 2021, the project underwent a fundamental transformation. Roya was no longer just a television channel; it became a media group. From that moment, expansion and development accelerated beyond initial expectations through the building of new platforms, investment in talent, entry into new lines of business, and the taking of difficult strategic decisions that collectively laid the foundation for a more mature phase. The Sayegh family carried this risk at a time when it was real in every sense of the word, and continued to support the project with patience, trust, and long-term commitment. Without that support, this journey would not have been possible. By 2025, the project reached its highest level of achievement across its entire journey, not because challenges diminished, but because the organizational structure became stronger, the team more capable, and the opportunities ahead more realistic and scalable. This has set the foundation for a strong year ahead and for a new phase extending into another fifteen years, one in which we are better prepared to move forward, more capable of building, and more able to create lasting impact.
